One sidebar, and channels are now spaces

The sidebar with your workspace's pages and the list of channels, conversations and agents beside it are now one sidebar, so there is one place to look and more room for the chat.

One sidebar

  • Under your workspace's name: Projects, Tasks, Documents, and Members if you manage members
  • Below them, three sections that scroll: Spaces, with #hey first; Messages, for direct messages and task conversations; and Your agents, your own and the ones shared with you. They replace the GoTogether and Agent links that were at the top
  • Agents waiting on you come first and say Needs you. A dot shows while one of your agents works, and an agent shared with you says who shared it
  • Each section lists its first few rows, then a row such as Show 16 more. Unread conversations, agents that need you and the page you are on stay listed either way
  • The + next to each section starts something: browse or create a space, a new message, or a new agent
  • Archived conversations are folded away at the end of Messages. Right-click a conversation there, or press and hold it on a touch screen, to archive or unarchive it
  • At the bottom: How GoTogether works and What's new, then Usage and your name. Log out is in your name's menu now, with Profile and Preferences
  • GitHub moved into the workspace menu, under Integrations

It points to what needs you

  • When an agent that needs you or an unread conversation is out of sight, a small pill at the edge of the lists says so, such as 2 agents need you or 5 unread
  • Click the pill and the sidebar scrolls to it
  • In a shorter window, each section lists fewer rows before Show more, so the sections under it move up

Fold it to icons

  • Fold the sidebar with the button at the top left of the page, or Ctrl+B (Cmd+B on a Mac). It stays folded when you reload
  • Folded, Spaces and Messages show their unread count, and Your agents how many need you
  • Click a section's icon to open its list beside it, with its +

Channels are now spaces

  • What we called channels are now called spaces. They work as before, and #hey is still #hey
  • Browse spaces and Create a space are under the + next to Spaces
  • Under an agent's answer, Post to channel is now Post to space, and sharing an agent offers This space

The dock is a plain AI chat

  • The dock's own list of agents, spaces and messages is gone. Open them from the sidebar, as pages
  • It opens on a new AI chat, or on the agent or conversation you moved into it with Move to dock
  • New chat starts a fresh one in its place, and Open full page opens what it shows as a page
  • The bar along the bottom of the screen is gone. Show dock, at the top right, brings the dock back. On an agent's or a conversation's page, that button is Move to dock
  • Minimize keeps your chat for when the dock comes back. Close ends it, so the dock comes back on a new chat, and an agent still working goes on in Your agents

A new look

  • Blue instead of green, in the app, on the website and in GoTogether's icons. The website and this changelog now follow light or dark mode like the app
  • Text, buttons and fields are a size larger and set in Inter, and faint text is darker, so everything is easier to read

Also fixed

  • On an iPhone, the message box no longer zooms the page in when you tap it
  • The button that confirms removing a member, revoking an invite or disconnecting GitHub is now red

Where to find it

  • The sidebar on the left of every page in the app. On a phone, open it with the button at the top left, or go to Home, which shows the same three sections
